Nanakram Bhagwandas Science College is the first science college from the twin cities to get affiliated with the O.U.

HYDERABAD: The golden jubilee celebrations of Nanakram Bhagwandas Science College, which was the first science college from the twin cities to get affiliated with Osmania University will wind up with a grand finale on Saturday.

The college, which has managed to survive the vagaries of changing academic preferences during the last five decades, still draws a large number of students, mostly from the old city.

The college was set up in 1954 by the Agarwal Siksha Samithi and was named after Nanakram Bhagwandas, who donated Rs.1 lakh for its establishment. The college also has the distinction of producing prominent personalities in sciences, including National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) seismologist and tsunami expert R.K. Chadha among others.
