HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has stoutly denied role in the alleged attack on Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, at the Press Club here on Monday.

Party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao told reporters that there was no need for TRS activists to be present at the spot as the spat between Mr. Rajagopal and another Congress MP Mr. Sarve Satyanarayana was purely an internal affair of Congress. Why would TRS workers enter the scene? If at all they did, they would have done it with pride sporting TRS "khandwas".

Mr. Rao also denied that the Dalit organisation involved in the incident was linked to TRS. He said there were several organisations of the community functioning under different names in the city.

Meanwhile, TRS MLA A. Chandrasekhar, who was named by Mr. Rajagopal as being responsible, said he had nothing to do with the incident.
