HYDERABAD: Popular film actor NTR junior on Monday said Telugu Desam’s cash transfer scheme, distribution of colour TV and free power supply can be implemented as the State’s income has gone up to Rs. 80,000 crore.
In a televised address to the people, NTR Jr, who is recuperating in his home, said the State’s income was Rs. 8,000 crore, but thanks to the efforts of Telugu Desam during its nine-year rule, it has gone up by ten times.
He said that the TDP recently announced many novel schemes, including the cash transfer under which amounts ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 each would be paid to middle-class and poor families. Asking the people to open accounts, he said that money would be deposited directly in their accounts and there would not be any scope for corruption.
He appealed to the people to protect the self-respect of Telugus by bringing back the Telugu Desam to power and throwing out the “corrupt Congress government”. He said corruption was rampant in the State. Never did the TDP regimes, headed either by the late N.T. Rama Rao or N. Chandrababu Naidu, face so many corruption charges. It was the moral responsibility of people to free the State from “corrupt rule”.
