New scheme by bank
The Union Bank of India is introducing a new deposit scheme, by the name Union Cash Certificate, from Friday. The new scheme, which will close on October 31, is for a medium term of three to five years.
]Certificate with a maturity value ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10 lakhs will be offered. Loan facility against deposit is also allowed. An ATM was opened at INS Kalinga a few days ago by the bank's Executive Director R.S. Reddy.
A workshop on consumer awareness was held at the Meghadripeta Defence Civilian Colony on Thursday in association with the Consumer Protection Council of Visakhapatnam. President of the Ladies Welfare Centre of the Colony Shobhana Deshpande, president of the council M. Krishna Murthy and representatives of State Government Departments spoke.
Bank branch opened
Andhra Bank opened its Specialised Personal Banking Branch opposite Vemana Mandiram, Aseelmetta on Thursday. Deputy General Manager of the bank, K. Sethu Prasad opened the branch. Assistant General Manager M. Somanadham and other top officials attended.
