US-based Dr. Ramineni Foundation will award the Vishista Puraskaaram

HYDERABAD: Veteran actress of yesteryears Anjali Devi and three others will be honoured with a `Vishishta Puraskaaram', a citation, momento and cash award of Rs. 25,000 by the Dr. Ramineni Foundation, USA.

The other names include Professor and Head of Department of Cardiology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences K. Srinath Reddy, eminent academician I.V. Chalapathi Rao and Umar Alisha, a philanthropist of Sri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham, Pithapuram.

The awards will be presented at a function here on October 12, said Convenor and film actor AVS and awards committee members Vedacharya Ramineni and V.V. Rao.

The awards were instituted by late Dr. Ramineni Ayyanna Chowdary eight years ago.

In addition, to this, `Pratibha Puraskaarams', were instituted four years ago to a boy and girl student who secure the highest marks in Class 10 from each mandal in Guntur district and Movva in Krishna district.

Accordingly, 61 students will receive the awards that include a gold medal, merit certificate and cash award of Rs. 3,000 each.

From this year, the Pratibha awards were extended to students getting the first, second and third highest marks in all Zilla Parishad High Schools in Guntur district, said Mr. Vedacharya Ramineni.
