People's welfare was given a go-by, says YSR
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has said that the Karimnagar Lok Sabha byelection has been forced upon people by Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhara Rao since his `personal interest' had gained precedence over `people's welfare'.
Since the statehood issue has been left to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, all await her decision. However, the State Government was committed to developing the region.
His Government would take up the Sriramsagar project flood flow canal and lift irrigation projects from Mid Manair to Upper Manair reservoir. Tenders for Mothe reservoir would also be called for shortly, he added.
Dr. Reddy made these remarks while addressing TRS cadres from Choppadandi and Nerella Assembly constituencies in Karimnagar, who joined the party here on Thursday. Among them were Naresh Reddy, TRS youth wing State general secretary and T. Bhagya Reddy, founder member of the TRS and a leading medical practitioner in Karimnagar.
