HYDERABAD: Differences among workers of the Congress in Secunderabad Assembly constituency came to the fore on Saturday when two of their groups clashed during the party nominee Jayasudha’s election campaign. The two groups, however, patched up late in the night. Accompanied by supporters of Congress leader Pitla Krishna, Ms. Jayasudha came to Tukaramgate area for campaign. As she was going around the municipal quarters locality, followers of the local Congress leader, Adam Vijay Kumar, who aspired to secure Congress ticket from the same constituency, raised objection. They alleged that the campaign was undertaken in their locality without informing them to sideline them.
Angry supporters of Mr. Kumar attacked Mr. Krishna’s followers after exchanging heated arguments. Ms. Jayasudha suspended the campaign temporarily as both the groups continued to argue not paying heed to the party leaders’ advice.
Ms. Jayasudha, late in the night, told reporters that both the groups had buried the hatchet and decided to united work for her.
