Jagan case: Ratna Prabha appears before CBI

Another senior IAS officer K. Ratna Prabha on Saturday appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to answer questions in the case relating to disproportionate assets of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Borne on Karnataka cadre, Ms. Ratna Prabha had worked here on deputation as Principal Secretary of Information and Technology and Revenue during the tenure of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister.

She looked after the subject of Urban Land Ceiling in the Revenue Department.

Talking to The Hindu , she said it was more of an interaction with the CBI rather than an interrogation to find out how the government files were processed and why the officials had done whatever the task.

Several orders allotting land to IT companies in the special economic zones of Visakhapatnam, Ranga Reddy, Vijayawada and Warangal were issued during her tenure.

Some of them were said to have invested in the businesses of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. She is the third senior officer to turn up at the temporary office of the CBI at Dilkusha guesthouse in the last three days.

Former Chief Secretary P. Ramakanth Reddy and Principal Secretary (Protocol) Ajay Misra were the others. She was questioned for more than three hours.
