HYDERABAD: The Praja Rajyam has put together a plan of ‘escorting’ at least 50 of its potential, winning candidates from their constituencies across the State to a ‘camp’ here during the counting of votes to keep its flock together and prevent poaching by other political parties.

The potential winners are understood to have been zeroed in on the basis of internal surveys carried out by the Praja Rajyam, their ‘winnability’ factor, caste equations, their political clout in the constituencies and the way they conducted their election campaign.

Besides, all candidates have been asked to report at the party office on Road No. 5, Jubilee Hills, latest by 6 p.m. on Saturday. The plan is that after the meeting of the Praja Rajyam Legislature Party, the elected candidates will all be driven over to a resort on the outskirts of the State capital where they will stay put for a minimum of three days as the political machinations go on in the outside world.

For the past three days, party managers have been busy checking out places suitable for the purpose. On Friday evening, Alankrita resort on the road to Karimnagar was understood to have been finalised. Every effort has been made to keep the candidates as comfortable as possible. Meanwhile, it was learnt that party president K. Chiranjeevi, general secretary Allu Aravind and some other top leaders will stay put at Mr. Chiranjeevi’s residence on Saturday. Any interaction with the media thus, will depend purely on the outcome of results.
