The anti-corruption officials conduct simultaneous searches

HYDERABAD: A high ranking official of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on charges of amassing wealth which was disproportionate to his known sources of income, the bureau officials said on Thursday.

The anti-graft officials conducted simultaneous searches at his office and residence and found that M. Konda Reddy, General Manager of the Board was in possession of assets valued at Rs. 1 crore. A bureau press release said the assets included a flat, 13 house plots at Chengicherla, Serilingampally and Raidurg, 13.07 acres of agricultural land at Nagarkunta in Shahabad mandal of Rangareddy district.

The market value of these properties would be about Rs. 5 crore.

He was also found in possession of cash of Rs. 1 lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs. 3.92 lakh and other movable assets worth Rs.14.34 lakh. Searches are continuing, the press release added.
