VISAKHAPATNAM: Jagapathi Babu who is ‘Adhineta’ is quite upbeat about the film. “It inspired me though I do not know much about politics. It helped me understand politics and what manifestoes are all about,” he says.

The hero along with the film’s director Samudra, producer Radhamohan and actors Neelima, Shradhdha Das and Hamsanandini was here on Wednesday, on a tour to mark the success of the film. Mr. Jagapathi Babu said he was happy that the film was a big hit and was running to packed houses in Visakhapatnam in the second week too.

The film was a success because of politics with one section saying that the result was evident in it and the other section also turning up to see how it was so. Mr. Jagapathi Babu said though it was a commercial film it was not a ‘normal’ one but had a message. The climax was extraordinary with seven minutes of dialogues. He politely turned down questions on whether he would enter politics stating that he himself was not clear about it. But he said the state of affairs was leading to frustration. People foul-mouthing one another and getting into fights was quite uncivil. The frustration had to find expression, he said. Answering a question, he said Lok Satta president N. Jayaprakash Narayan

was a good leader and even Chiranjeevi and N. Chandrababu Naidu appreciated him.

Though two of his films hit the screen at the same time, he was quite happy that Bangaraubabu had a different audience. He did the cameo in Prakash Raj-starrer Akasamanta… because of respect and love for producer Dil Raju to whom he could not say ‘no’. He had no regrets and the film was a big hit. Director Samudra said the film helped in an image makeover for Jagapathi Babu and ranked among his hits like Gayam and Sivaramaraju. Paruchuri Brothers’ dialogues were a big success comparable to Eenadu, Tagore and his own Evadite Nakenti. The film would have been more useful to people if it had been released before elections.

Producer Radhamohan said the film had a message that benefited society cutting across political lines. Cinematographer Prasadbabu and Suresh of Sairam Films that distributed the film were present.
