Hyderabad: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), A.P. Chapter, will launch a State-wide campaign from June 11 to 20 to create educational awakening in people in general and Muslim community in particular. During the ten day campaign it is proposed to enrol 15,000 children in schools.

Mohd. Azharuddin, secretary, JIH, and M.A. Raqeeb Lateefi, secretary, JIH education wing, told presspersons here on Wednesday that door-to-door campaign, public meetings, rallies and cultural troops and parents meet would be organised. Special attention would be paid to slums where educational guidance camps would be organised. Besides, the message about the importance of education would be spread through the Friday sermons.

Parents would be requested not to send their children for work but provide them education, their basic right. “We are confident that the campaign will have positive impact on people”, Mr. Lateefi said.

The JIH campaign had the support of Students’ Islamic Organisation of India, Movement for Peace and Justice, All India Ideal Teachers’ Association and Girls’ Islamic Organisation of India and other NGOs.
