HYDERABAD: The death of a pregnant woman in the early hours of Wednesday at Gandhi Hospital here set off a series of events that eventually led to a flash strike by hospital medicos. The hospital’s post-graduates were demanding the arrest of the relatives of the pregnant woman, who apparently ransacked the labour room and assaulted the doctors there after her death.

While the attackers alleged that the woman died due to medical negligence, the hospital authorities, however, maintained that she died of complications because of a dead foetus. The attackers, according to authorities, ransacked the labour room. The medicos were also beaten up badly.
