Television channel TV9, in association with others, has launched a ‘Green Ganesh' campaign to bring home the fact that huge Ganesh idols are possible in clay. Under the campaign, a huge ‘Clay Ganesha' with a height of 55 feet will be made and displayed on the banks of Durgan Cheruvu, a press release said on Wednesday.

Ten artists from West Bengal will make the idol with clay brought from the banks of Ganga. Dry grass and bamboo strips will be used in the making of the idol which will be decorated in natural colours, the note said. Popular cine artistes and political leaders will participate in the poojas for 11 days, it said.
