TIRUPATI: The Bangarupalyam mango marketyard, which was devastated by a raging fire three days back, is limping back to normalcy. The visit of two Ministers on successive days has given solace to the mango farmers who were shattered by the destruction of a whopping 683 metric tonnes of mango at the end of the season.

During his visit on Thursday, Minister for Environment and Forests Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy asked the officials to prepare estimation for construction of permanent sheds within a week.

To overcome paucity of funds, he gave the nod for diversion of funds from other marketing committees.

It may be recalled that the Minister for Roads and Buildings Galla Aruna Kumari had announced a compensation of Rs.41.16 lakh to the farmers after having talks with her Marketing counterpart Damodar Rajanarsimha on Wednesday. The move would benefit 192 farmers.
