SANGAREDDY: Special Officer on drought and Technical Education Commissioner L. Prem Chandra Reddy on Saturday called upon the officials to address the drought related problems in the district immediately.
At a review meeting at Collector’s camp office at Sangareddy, Mr. Prem Chandra Reddy said that coordination among different departments was required to tackle the problem successfully. Referring to drinking water and fodder problems being faced by the farmers, he said that necessary steps should be taken on a war footing to mitigate the problems. Rescheduling of loans to farmers and sanction of loans to new applicants were also suggested by the special officer.
M. Chandrasekhar , Joint Director (AG) informed that only 25 per cent of the 2,400 ‘Adarsha Rytulu’ were functioning actively.
On the disbursement of fertilizer, he said the fertilizer was already distributed in 25 mandals with the help of Agros shops and in the remaining mandals, the responsibility was entrusted to agriculture officials and ‘Adarsha Rytulu.’
