HYDERABAD: Songs and dances by students of all classes livened up the Independence Day celebrations at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jubilee Hills on August 15. The assembly was kicked off by the rendition of national song by students of Class II, followed by a dance sequence. The school also celebrated Raksha Bandhan on August 4 in a purposeful manner by visiting a school in a slum. Students of both schools exchanged rakhis.

Lilly Model High School

“Kids’ Day” was celebrated in connection with the Independence Day at the Lilly Model High School, North Lallaguda. Kindergarten children dressed as fruits, flowers, birds and bees enthralled the audience in the fancy dress competition ‘Farm House’.

NASR School

NASR School, Khairatabad had its investiture ceremony on the same day as the Independence Day. Additional DGP Abdul Khayum Khan was the chief guest.

A march-past to the beats by the school band was appreciated by one and all after the new elects were invested with responsibilities.

Homage was paid to soldiers of the armed forces keeping in mind the 10th anniversary of the Kargil War. City High School

Independence Day celebrations at the City High School, R.K.Nagar, Malkajgiri were marked by competitions such as ‘Identify the leaders’, quiz programmes, drawing competition, elocution and others. Prizes were given away to the winning students.
