VISAKHAPATNAM: There is potential for growth by at least 11 times in the fly ash brick industry which is now contributing to a turnover of about Rs.3,600 crores to Rs.5,400 crores.

Making this observation at a media conference here on Friday, founder-director of Institute for Solid Waste Research and Ecological Balance (INSWAREB) N. Kalidas said INSWAREB’s Fal-G technology which is used to manufacture fly ash bricks had made a dent on the clay brick industry which had monopolised the walling market for centuries in the absence of tangible alternative.

“Our technology helped develop over 9,000 entrepreneurs and created direct employment to over 1.08 lakh workforce in India. There is scope to develop one lakh entrepreneurs with employment potential to over 12 lakhs. ” he said.
