HYDERABAD: The city police on Monday recovered four stolen antique idols with the arrest of three persons. The arrested -- Thakur Jitender, 18, M. Raju, 31, and B. Prabhakar -- confessed to the police that one Nagesh, who had allegedly stolen the idols from a temple in Khammam, requested them to sell them off, the Commissioner’s Task Additional DCP A.S.C. John Wesley told reporters.
The trio hailed from Ranga Reddy and knew Nagesh as he also belonged to the same district.
They came to city to find buyers for the idols of lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Anjaneya and were caught by the Task Force officials on a tip-off. Nagesh is still at large.
