Irrigation water provided under Bheema LI scheme
Environment, forest and financial clearances accorded
MAHABUBNAGAR: Irrigation water would be provided to one lakh acres under Bheema Lift Irrigation scheme (Rajiv Lift Irrigation scheme) in Mahabubnagar district before the onset of next kharif season, said MP from Mahabubnagar D.Vittal Rao.
He inspected the ongoing works of Bheema Phase I works near Maktal and Panchadevpad towns on Monday. He said that all the required permissions like environment, forest financial and administration clearances were accorded to the project in the district. Mr.Vittal Rao said that as per the promise made by the government water would be provided to some one lakh acres under Bheema project one month ahead of 2008 kharif season. He also informed that the projects taken up in the district were eligible to get 30 per cent grants under AIBP. Maktal MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddysaid water would be released as per scheduled time. The Superintendent Engineer Bheema Lift Irrigation project Krishnaji informed that the works to the tune of Rs.1, 600 crore were taken up under the project and the works worth Rs. 800 crore were completed so far.
He said that overall 55 per cent works were completed under the project and he was confident that the water would be released in time.
