Overflowing drains, dumps dot areas like Chikkadpally
HYDERABAD: Continuing his midnight inspections on Tuesday night, GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer C.V.S.K. Sarma, was furious with the bad state of sanitation in the areas of Ramkoti, Bagh Lingampally, Chikkadpally, Shankar Mutt, Kavadiguda and environs.
The overflowing drains and open dumping of waste as well as building debris caught his eye.
He asked his officials to have proper coordination with the Water Board to prevent drain leakage.
The Chief Engineer was directed to visit the areas and report about completion of work within a day.
The much delayed park development at Koti was also noticed and the horticulture wing was told to show results in a week.
At different road stretches as in Troop Bazar, Ramanathapur, Amberpet and so on, he wanted the shop-keepers to be penalised for littering and throwing garbage on the roads.
A cleanliness drive has to be taken up in Gandhinagar Vambay housing scheme.
Irregular placement of manholes might have escaped the eye of his engineering wing but the Commissioner did not miss these at Chikkadpally. Mr. Sarma said that work should be such that the public are not inconvenienced.
Senior officials accompanied him.
