HYDERABAD: Kapunadu State president Miryala Venkata Rao on Wednesday offered to step down from his post and also disband the organisation if it was necessary in the interest of forging unity among divergent groups of the community.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Rao said several associations representing the community had come up over the years and threatened to weaken the movement demanding inclusion of Kapus, Telagas, Balijas and Ontari among Backward Classes. The associations were deliberately formed as part of a conspiracy to weaken the movement.

Mr. Rao saw a bleak future for the movement unless all Kapus came under a single umbrella.
