KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar agricultural market committee chairman Y. Sunil Rao flayed the opposition parties for politicising the minimum support price issue for gaining mileage when the farmers of the State were getting more than the MSP to their produce at the market yards.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he found fault with the opposition parties for participating in dharna and obstructing the officials from discharging their duties at the marketyard. He said that the farmers were getting more than the MSP to their produce in all the market yards in the district. Against the MSP of Rs. 2050 for cotton, he said that the private traders were procuring the cotton from farmers at the rate of Rs. 2080 and the CCI was purchasing at Rs. 2050.
