HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has decided to act tough against its party MP from Medak Vijayashanti who has distanced herself from party and maintained close relations with the Congress leaders during the last one month.
The party leadership, however, decided to seek her version before initiating any action against her. A committee would be sent to her for the purpose, it was decided at the maiden meeting of the newly constituted politburo of the party on Saturday.
Talking to reporters, senior leaders V. Laxmikantha Rao, Naini Narasimha Reddy and Eatala Rajender said the committee would seek first hand information from Vijayashanti on media reports that she had made up her mind to quit TRS and join Congress. Action against her depended on her response.
The meeting saw TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao leaving the venue after presiding over it for an hour. He asked the politburo to focus on issues of public importance and convey to him the summary of the deliberations.
He also assured that he would approve the decisions taken in his absence.
The meeting reportedly was a stormy affair as a leader of Hyderabad sought an explanation from Mr. Rao why the sixteen legislators who resigned last year to pave way for byelections were not given tickets in the Assembly polls.
