Simhachalam Devasthanam should also start ‘Brahmotsavams’ on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) at the earliest following Vaikhanasa Agama and also construct more cottages.
VisakhapatnamExempt educational institutes
Recently, the municipal authority issued demand notices to non-residential buildings including those housing educational institutions, enhancing its tax four to five times by treating them as business centres on par with other business houses. As educational institutions are helping the government in the cause of literacy, it is suggested that the government should exempt buildings housing educational institutions from heavy taxation.
History has repeated itself once again. Visakhapatnam airport was inundated due to rains.
The government has spent lakhs on consultants and crores on canal excavation to as preventive measures. However, the consultants’ suggestions were deviated by the consortium as disposal of water into the sea is not feasible.
Our suggestion to form one or two subsidiary balancing reservoirs to hold up flood waters was not considered. Water stored in the reservoir can be supplemented for drinking purposes after purification. If the authorities concerned want the problem to be solved, it is better they plan to store the flood water at the upper reaches.

VisakhapatnamIt’s the same old story
Flights were cancelled again due to inundation of the runway by the water flowing from Meghadrigadda reservoir. It happened after all the talk about night landing facilities, raising the level of runway, digging of a discharge canal with bunds, etc. Unfortunately, after the torrential rain recently everything went haywire leading to cancellation of flights. The same old story has repeated. Who is to be held responsible for this fiasco?
The Airports Authority of India or the designer or the contractor, who executed the works.
