State gives approval for supernumerary posts

Working spouses will be posted at one place

HYDERABAD: Opposition MLAs on Wednesday expressed displeasure over the “indifference” of the officials in furnishing the required information about the number of non-local employees who are to be repatriated to their native districts.

The House Committee meeting chaired by Congress member N. Uttam Kumar Reddy saw TDP, TRS, CPI and CPI (M) members lamenting the inability of the officials from the Health department, AP Genco, AP Transco and other public undertakings to place the information before the committee.

Notwithstanding Opposition members’ criticism, the committee took some key decisions.

It also issued orders to implement GO 610 in public undertakings, including Singareni Collieries Company Limited, AP Transco, AP Genco and APSRTC. A majority of the 12 lakh employees, teachers and workers would now come under the purview of GO 610, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy told reporters after the meeting.

Finance Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao informed the committee that the Government had accorded approval for the creation of supernumerary posts following repatriation of non-locals. He said that in case of working spouses, both would be posted at one place.
