The “Combined General Bus Tickets” valid for a month will cost Rs. 400

Travel by MMTS II class and RTC ordinary service

Revenue will be shared equally by RTC, SCR

Hyderabad: The much-awaited combined bus-rail ticket for seamless travel in the Multi Modal Transit System (MMTS) and APSRTC buses would be formally launched by Chief Secretary J. Harinarayan on Thursday.

The South Central Railway in association with the RTC will issue the “Combined General Bus Tickets” at a cost of Rs. 400 and the ticket will be valid for one month.

Commuters obtaining the tickets can travel by MMTS trains in second class and also travel in APSRTC ordinary services from one destination to the other, irrespective of distance in twin cities as notified by the RTC, a press release suggested.

After years of wrangling, both the RTC and South Central Railway (SCR) buried their hatchet in February this year to operate the combined tickets at a special coordination meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.

Revenue sharing terms and modalities for compliance were discussed at length in the meeting and with both the organisations coming to a final understanding of sharing the revenue equally.
