Alleges no unanimity in the Cabinet

TDP’s free power promise draws flak

NIZAMABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi district chief and party legislator E. Ravinder Reddy has accused Congress and Telugu Desam Party of making so many promises to people only to dilute the demand for separate Telangana and divert the public attention from it.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said there was no unanimity in the Cabinet over the reintroduction of Rs.2 kg rice scheme. While the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy announced that the scheme would be introduced, his Cabinet colleague Mohammad Ali Shabbir said there was no such proposal.

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu who once had observed that agriculture was mere waste was now speaking of giving free power to farm sector.

He also made 15 other promises to the public. They were on the promises spree keeping on an eye on midterm polls to the Lok Sabha, he said.

Mr. Ravinder Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister and the opposition leader had a clandestine understanding to weaken the demand for Telangana and were making myriad promises. “You (people) take all sops from both parties, but vote for the TRS for achieving separate State”, he said.

The TRS State general secretary A.S. Posetty, treasurer Rajiv, senior leader A. Ganga Reddy and youth wing leader Jeevan Reddy were present.
