Top MNCs involved in construction industry to participate

ADILABAD: A job mela for Gulf returnees in Adilabad district will be organised at Nirmal town on September 28 in which National Academy of Construction will also participate besides companies in the construction industry. Between 10,000 and 15,000 returness are likely to appear in the mela.

Collector Ahmad Nadeem said almost all the persons deported from Gulf belong to Nirmal and surrounding areas. They could register on the day of the mela or before that.

Jobs would be given according to suitability of the candidates. Based on the demand, candidates appearing for jobs in the mela will be provided training in the relevant field, so that they can upgrade their skills.

Most of the persons who were deported had worked either as masons or construction labourers in the Gulf. “It may not be difficult for them in finding suitable jobs that attract good remuneration locally,” Mr. Nadeem said.

Adilabad administration will also take into consideration the experience at such job melas at Karimnagar and Nizamabad.

Change in venue

Nizamabad Staff Reporter adds: Meanwhile, the district administration has changed the venue for the job mela in Nizamabad. The mela will be held at the Government Polytechnic College for Boys grounds in Armoor on September 24.

The venue was changed following the requests from people and for the convenience of the Gulf returnees, district Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu said on Saturday. However, there was no change in the job mela to be conducted at Kamareddy on September 23, he said. About 10 MNCs are expected to attend the mela.
