High drama as scores of actor’s fans throng the court premises and raise slogans
Judge posts the matrimonial case for hearing on October 5
Nandini present in court, but fails to appear before judge
VISAKHAPATNAM: Film star Pavan Kalyan appeared in the Family-cum-Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court here on Thursday as scores of his fans thronged the court premises.
Judge L.D. Prasad, after interacting with both the parties in the matrimonial case filed by the actor and his wife Nandini, posted the case for hearing on October 5. Though Pavan Kalyan came at 10.30 a.m. sharp, he left amid tight security as fans crowded the court premises on being informed that the judge had rescheduled the hearing to 3 p.m.
Amid full-throated slogans in his favour, he drove into the court premises accompanied by private security guards and police, climbed atop the Honda City and acknowledged greetings of his fans. Later, during his second visit to the court, he repeated the same act on arrival.
The court took up two cases – one on the petition filed by Nandini, daughter of city businessman K. Chakradhara Rao, for maintenance and another by Pavan Kalyan for nullification of his marriage. The bigamy case filed by Nandini will be taken up for hearing on September 20.
Nandini was present in the court premises but could not appear before the judge on ‘security grounds.’ Her advocate B. Satyanarayana told The Hindu that he informed this to the judge who permitted him to talk on her behalf. The estranged couple has to appear in the court when the case is taken up for ‘reconciliation’.
On the orders of the judge, all the doors of the courtroom were closed during the post-lunch session in line with the High Court’s direction to hold the proceedings in camera.
While Mr. Chakradhara Rao told reporters that his daughter was willing to lead a happy married life with Pavan Kalyan, the reel life hero turned philosophical by observing “I have nothing to say and I will be guided by my destiny.”
