Kakinada: A new political party, with proportionate representation to all castes and sharing of power, is in the offing.

“Those who have been exploited over the years are now waking up to the reality. The urge for real freedom has become intense.

It will emerge as a strong political party by Republic Day next,” asserted three retired IAS officers – D.C. Rosaiah, B. Danam (both SCs) and I. Venkateswerlu (BC) – at a press conference here on Saturday.

As a prelude to the formation of a new political party for a new social and political order, they said they embarked on creating political awareness among SC, ST, BC and minorities by organising conventions all over the State.

The first seminar in the series, they said, would be held in Kakinada on August 19.

Objectives

Explaining the objectives of the proposed outfit, they said it would be based on principles of inclusive democracy –including all castes in sharing of power, giving proportional representation, thereby achieving equality among all castes.

They said the party would have collective leadership on the lines of the Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) and would follow rotation system.

On the Lok Satta Party founded by Jaya Prakash Narayan, they said it was in no way different from other political parties, as it hangs around a single individual promoting personality cult.

They said seminars would also be held at Vijayawada, Warangal, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.
