HYDERABAD: The Government is considering options to make work in the rural areas attractive to doctors by offering them the highest possible salaries, said Minister for Health and Family Welfare S. Chandrasekhar.

He was participating in a question-answer session after addressing members of the city chapter of the Public Relations Council of India at a discussion on ‘Healthcare in New Millennium – PR Perspective’, here on Friday.

Mr. Chandrasekhar said the subject was being considered at the highest levels in Government and it was close to fixing salary levels depending upon the remoteness of the posting for doctors.

It was generally decided that doctors working at the remotest locations in the State would get the highest, the Minister said.
