VISAKHAPATNAM: It was a colourful cultural programme aimed to break the ice between the students and an opportunity for the seniors to greet students who stepped gingerly into the portals of higher education with high expectations and ambitions. All the inhibitions and fear vanished within no time as the ‘freshers’ came together to participate in the ‘Traditional Day’ organised by the seniors of the Integral Institute of Advanced Management on Sunday. Around 90 students of the first year participated in the three-day programme. Radiating energy, the whole new set of enthusiastic students gave a colourful performance as they came dressed in traditional attires depicting the culture and region they belong to.
“This is an opportunity to interact with one another and get to know each other better,” said college representative Vijay. The first day was the introduction round wherein the students spoke about their background. The second day saw a host of colourful performances like singing, dancing and mimicry. The hall reverberated with whistles and hoots of the audience when a group of students danced to songs from hit movies. On the final day ten students were selected on the basis of their presentation skills and performances.
“It’s not just about friendly interaction. Through this programme we can also team up with students who exude leadership qualities and can be a part of the organising committee in the future programmes,” said Gautham, a second year student.
