Students from some 250 colleges take part in the event

Makeshift ‘FM station’ a major attraction

Traditional, western dances a big hit

Amalapuram: Youngsters from about 250 colleges all over the State celebrated Yuvagala 2k9-National Youth Festival at BVC Engineering and Technology, Vodalarevu, near here on Sunday. The youngsters engaged in songs, sports, cultural programmes like mono action, one-act play, fancy dress competitions and so on.

Young girls and boys set up a makeshift ‘FM station’ which attracted hundreds of students during the festival. Bonam Kanakaiah, correspondent of the college, inaugurated “Yuvagala 2k9” along with Tata Consultancy Academic Relations Manager K. Suryanarayana and Bonam Rajesh inaugurated the festival on Saturday. Mr. Suryanarayna released ‘Resonance 2k9’ souvenir amidst cheering of about 2,000 youths. Traditional and western dances and film numbers attracted a large number of students.

Food courts

Food courts, seminars, debate competitions, technical paper presentations on Nanotechnology and other engineering subjects, stalls displaying different skills of girl and boy students and other cultural events attracted hundreds of parents and youngsters from different colleges.

Stall of Service was also one of the attractions the money from which will be spent for social service programmes.

Bonam Rajesh, representing the management of the college, said that the technical, academic talent of the youth came out during paper presentation and debate, group discussions and cultural events.
