HYDERABAD: The Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) obstructed the proceedings of the Assembly on Wednesday seeking a commitment from the State Government to shift the printing press of an Urdu daily located in the cellar of a shopping complex near Fateh Maidan.

They alleged that the daily had violated permission granted to the complex by accommodating the press and shops in the cellar which was actually reserved for parking, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said. Earlier, Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao informed the House that the newspaper was served notices to vacate the press but the management sought time which was granted. Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy advised the Minister to convene a meeting with officials to get the press vacated.
