Rajahmundry: Joint Collector C. Sudarshan Reddy on Sunday conducted a review meeting with officials of various departments. Issues like land acquisition, housing, essential commodities, ration cards, water tanks and health conditions in rural areas were discussed at the meeting. Officials of Rajahmundry and Rampachodavaram revenue divisions attended the meeting.
The Joint Collector said that 19,500 houses would be built in the district for which land was available for only 13,500 houses and steps were afoot to acquire land for the rest. He asked revenue officials to identify land in other places also and acquire it from private parties at the Government rate. He asked officials to ensure settlement of pending court cases at the earliest.
He asked tehsildars to see to it that ration shop dealers paid the amount through drafts to get ration by 15th of every month and start distribution from 20th. He suggested conduct of FAC meetings regularly.
