  • Collector sees role for SHGs in marketing Vijaya milk and its products
  • Meeting of milk producers, officials from Guntur and Krishna districts held

    VIJAYAWADA: Milk producers and officials in the dairy sector should strive to make Vijaya products popular all over the country, said Adhar Sinha, Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Diary Development Cooperative Federation.

    Addressing milk producers and officials of the dairy sector from Guntur and Krishna districts here on Thursday, Mr. Sinha said that the federation would extend all the support that the milk unions would require to market Vijaya products at the national level.

    He said the federation would try to tackle the problems of milk producers and officials in the dairy sector.

    The problems that could not be resolved by the federation would be taken to the notice of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Sinha assured. He wanted the federation and the milk unions to work in unison to boost the sale of milk along with increase in production. District Collector Navin Mittal said the sale of Vijaya milk and milk products could be increased tremendously by involving the SHGs in marketing.

    Chilling centres

    These SHGs could be utilised to establish bulk milk chilling centres. Krishna District Mutually Aided Cooperative Milk Union chairman Mandava Janakiramaiah and managing director P. Babu Rao, Guntur District Milk Union chairman Rajababu and managing director N. John Mohan Rao were present.
