Infosys selects 48 students as software engineers
825 students participated in campus selection
KADAPA: Forty-eight students were chosen for appointment as software engineers in campus selections conducted by Infosys Technologies Ltd. at KSRM College of Engineering. The students were in B.Tech III year and MCA II year. They belonged to Kadapa and Anantapur districts, Principal K.S.N. Reddy said on Thursday.
KSRM College of Engineering topped with 27 of its students getting selected for appointment, followed by Intel College of Engineering, Anantapur (nine students), Beasant Institute of Technology, Hindupur and Annamacharya Institute of Technological Sciences, Rajampet (four each), Vagdevi Engineering College, Proddatur (three) and Madina Engineering College, Kadapa (one student).
A total of 825 students participated in campus selections and of them, 113 were selected for written test and interviews and 48 chosen for appointment, Prof. Reddy said in a statement. Prof. Reddy and Placement Officer G. Krishnamohan complimented the selected students.
Four hundred and forty seven candidates secured jobs out of 3,460 job aspirants who attended the three-day job mela organised by Kadapa Municipal Corporation. The mela concluded on Thursday.
A job mela will be held after three months on an engineering college campus for post-graduates, MBAs and MCAs as well as medical lab technicians, Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha said. Government funds were being spent on imparting training to youth aspiring for jobs, he said. Job melas would help the unemployed youth find suitable placement and avert them from treading the wrong path, Mr. Basha said.
