HYDERABAD: The 42nd ‘vardhanti’ of Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, was observed here on Monday at his statue near the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation office, in the presence of Governor N. D. Tiwari and Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.

Mr. Tiwari, who offered floral tributes to the statue along with several leaders, chanted Sanskrit slokas while moving around it.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister, D. Srinivas, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, D. Nagender, Health Minister, Jayaprakash Narayan, and B. Dattatreya, presidents of the Lok Satta and State Bharatiya Janata Party respectively, were among those who paid floral tributes.

B. Babu Rao Varma, chairman, Dr. Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Foundation Committee was also present.
