Need to protect their rights is higher as they cannot communicate their needs

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Round Table Conference has called for better support from the Government and non-Government organisations for the mentally challenged to help them lead independent lives to the extent possible.

The meet organised by Andhra Pradesh Parents Association here on Friday, raised the main concern of parents of persons with autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, "What will happen to our children after us?"

School Education Minister N. Rajya Lakshmi said that a meeting with directors and secretaries of education, NIMH, NGOs would be convened to decide on Government help.
