HYDERABAD: The 11-day Lepakshi handicrafts and handlooms exhibition was inaugurated at Kamalapuri Welfare Association grounds in Srinagar Colony on Thursday.
Over 80 artisans from various parts of the country were taking part. Steel and metal art wares, woodcarvings, cushion covers, bed sheets, Kondapally toys, artificial bonsai trees, and leather key chains, bags and wallets are presented at the exhibition.
Handloom materials like Pochampally, Gadwal and Venkatagiri sarees were also on display.
Speaking after inaugurating the exhibition, Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Y. Srilakshmi, said a decision was taken to open three more Lepakshi showrooms in the State.
In Hyderabad, the showroom would be opened at the newly constructed Paryataka Bhavan at Greenlands in Begumpet.
The exhibition would be open to public, including Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. everyday.
