`Cinema novel', comprising script, dialogues and songs of film will be released

HYDERABAD: The golden jubilee celebrations of `Mayabazar', the classic Telugu mythological film at Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Public Gardens on April 7, will be yet another milestone for the immortal film.

For the golden jubilee celebration of the film, which continues to regale viewers cutting across generation barriers, is being organised by the Department of Culture, Andhra Pradesh State Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation and Kinnera Art Theatres jointly, besides fans.

Giving the details of the celebration, noted film artiste Ravikondala Rao said the involvement of the Department of Culture itself is testimony to the greatness of the film, produced by Vijaya Productions and released in March, 1957.

Though many artistes and technicians who made this evergreen film are no more, actors like Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy and Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, who acted in the film, and 92-year-old art director Kaladhar will be felicitated during the celebration. They will share their experiences during the making of the film.

Secretary of Kinnera Art Theatres M. Raghuram said the film became renowned for its script, screen play, dialogues, music and people even today recite its dialogues and recall the songs and enjoy the film. Keeping in mind the enormous popularity of the film, a `cinema novel' comprising the script, dialogues and songs will be released on the occasion.
