Fast-track clearance will be given for their development

  • Work to be taken up in two phases
  • Land-owners urged to play participatory role

    VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) will develop 23 master plan roads in the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region (VMR) limits to provide planned and systematic transport network with excellent connectivity between the rural and urban areas. Fast-track clearance for the development of these roads will be given.

    Some of the master-plan roads to be developed are: 24 k.m. Visakha-Bheemunipatnam Beach Road; 2 k.m. Kailasagiri ghat road; 2.5 k.m. Rushikonda-Madhurawada road; 6 k.m. Beach Road - NH 5 via. Kapuluppada and Boyapalem; 10 k.m. Duvvada-Narava-Gopalapatnam road; 12 k.m. Parawada-Anakapalle road; and 10 k.m. Sarepalli Pendurthi-Kothavalasa road.

    VUDA Vice-Chiarman G. Venkataram Reddy in a press release said the widening and formation of the total length of 155 k.m. road network will be taken up in two phases. While GVMC will take up the formation of master plan roads falling in its limits the remaining will be taken up by VUDA.

    Marking done

    Marking of the roads was also completed, he said and appealed to the land owners falling in the marked limits of these roads to come forward voluntarily to play their role in participatory development of VMR.

    The other areas covered by master plan roads are: Marikavalasa, Yendada, Mithilapuri colony, Kapuluppada, Boyapalem, Bakkannapalem, Vellanki, Rajula Tallavalasa, Nidigattu, Lankelapalem, Sabbavaram, Adavivaram and Bakkannapalem.
