HYDERABAD: The seven-day `padayatra' of city BJP legislator G. Kishen Reddy started here on Monday from Chiluka Nagar, Uppal mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

The BJP MLA, who has taken up the `padayatra' against rise in prices of essential commodities, took the opportunity to lampoon the Congress Government for rise in prices by 50 per cent when compared with the prices prevalent during the NDA regime. Mr. Reddy pointed out that during NDA, LPG was freely available to households. The gas dealers have diverted the supply to commercial use and LPG cylinders are freely available in the black market, he alleged. The `padayatra' started from Chiluka Nagar, passed through Beerappagadda, Old Market, Bharath Nagar, Uppal old village, Harijanbasthi, Uppal main road, Laxmi Reddy colony, industrial area and proceeded to Ramanthapur. State party president Bandaru Dattatreya and leaders including Baddam Bal Reddy, N.V.V.S. Prabhakar were among those present.
