Digital meters: deadline extended

The deadline for the mandatory installation of digital meters in autorickshaws in the in the twin cities and Ranga Reddy district has been extended up to January 15, 2007. According to Joint Transport Commissioner B. Venkateswarlu, the decision was taken following requests made by certain unions to give them extra time to comply with the rule.

Panel reconstituted

The Government has reconstituted the Children's Films Selection Committee with C.V. Reddy, cine producer-director, as chairman. Swarnalatha, N.V.Subba Rao, M. Balaiah, Chava Sudha Rani are members. The managing director of AP State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Ltd is the ex-officio member and convener, according to an official release.

Record number visit NTR Gardens

NTR Gardens received a record 25,114 persons on January1, New Year Day, the highest number of visitors ever since it was opened for public in 2002. The gate receipts touched Rs. 3.55 lakhs mark, according to officials of the Buddha Purnima Authority.
