HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam has accused Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy of riding the crest of ill-gotten money while displaying arrogance towards its president N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Reacting to “uncharitable” remarks of Mr. Jagan against Mr. Naidu during the former’s campaign in Greater Hyderabad elections, TDP leaders K. Yerran Naidu and Varla Ramaiah said the Congress MP earned crores of rupees by dubious means and also had factional blood in him. Therefore, people could not expect anything better from him.
They alleged that Mr. Jagan had earned money illegally by misusing his father’s position. Besides foreign funds, his family had invested Rs. 500 crore in Sakshi daily. They also said the MP was an uninvited guest for the campaign by Congress.
The people who followed his convoy in the campaign turned up solely out of greed for money.
Earlier, Mr. Naidu criticised Mr. Jagan separately for claiming Chief Ministership as the post was not anybody’s monopoly.
He said he had in the past told Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy that he was spoiling his son. He had wanted Dr. Reddy to discipline his son.
Mr. Yerran Naidu demanded that the State government keep its promise of reimbursing in full the tuition fee of Backward Class students pursuing self-finance courses. The government’s latest decision of fixing a ceiling of Rs. 20,000 for reimbursement showed the promise was an eyewash to win the last Assembly elections.
