An epitome of moral courage, a symbol of humility, a noble and selfless leader to the core and true Gandhian, late Shri Lal Bahadur Sastry, should be remembered by all Indians on his birthday i.e., October 2. His statues should be erected everywhere and garlanded and people should take an oath to follow Lal Bahadur Sastry and his ideals.
October 2 should be celebrated as the birthday of the two most famous leaders of India, namely Bapuji and Lal Bahadurji on a very grand scale. Sastry’s life history should be included in the textbooks so as to inspire future generations of the country.

KavaliWhy this discrimination?
It’s shame on the part of our leadership, who conveniently forgot to pay tributes to Lal Bahadur Sastry on his birth anniversary on October 2. He was the person who revolutionised the Indian agriculture sector and coined ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan’ slogan.
All the newspapers and electronic media beamed pictures of netas garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi but not one on Sastriji. Why there is no single talk about him on this day in media? Why no national daily has publication about him? Not a single advertisement space containing his photograph and details, so that people can remember him. Is it just because he was never so much into Congress?
G. Guruva Reddy
YellenduHats off to Modi
Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, seems to be the best leader in the country if grabbing the Nano project were any indication. Many states, including Andhra Pradesh, vied for the Nano project after Tatas withdrew from Singur.
But, leaders, including, our Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, failed to instil confidence in the Tatas that our State is right destination. It is pertinent to recall here that we lost one more prestigious project, Volkswagon, some time ago. Gujarat under leadership of Mr. Modi is making big strides towards development. Hats off to Modi.
Recently, the railways introduced the ‘side middle berth’. It is highly inconvenient to travel sleeping on side upper or middle berth in view of space availability. The people have to rethink of whether they want to travel in train at all.
The trains are already very crowded. And, by increasing one more berth they only become more crowded. Spend some extra bucks and travel in a plane, that is what is going to happen and trains are going to run empty.
TanukuIs it TDP-II?
Is Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam suffering from dearth of leaders? Leaders are made but not born. He should learn this political philosophy and induct clean slated apolitical people possessing creative and innovative characteristics in his party instead of inviting and accepting defectors mostly from Telugu Desam Party.
If he continues to embrace TDP men, his new party can be called as TDP-II. S. Vijayaseshu
