HYDERABAD: The second and final phase of web based counselling for admissions into engineering and pharmacy courses would be held from October 12 to 19 and the 13,000 odd seats would be open to all the rank holders.
APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy said the notification regarding this would be issued by Monday.
He said counselling would be open for 13,000 odd seats of which 9,700 odd were left over seats while the remaining are the seats in 39 newly sanctioned colleges.
Among the left over seats, 6500 are from SC and ST category converted into general pool while 875 seats were from cancellation of admissions by students for various reasons.
Asutosh Mishra, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, said the decision to open counselling from ranker number one was due to the addition of seats in new colleges apart from seats vacated by some students in the sought-after colleges.
Prof. Reddy said candidates will have 200 options and they can change their options ten times. He said this time digital signature is being introduced to put an end to the charges of tampering with the choices.
Candidates need to scan their signature before closing their final options and after that their accounts would be froze so as to prevent tampering. The processing of allotments would begin on October 20 and the final allotments would be done on October 21.
He said counselling for Pharmacy seats for the Bi.P.C stream students would be held from October 22 to 24 and the admissions would be closed for this year.
The 7,000 odd seats leftover in Mathematics methodology would be shifted to the Biology methodology. The decision was taken at a meeting of B.Ed admission committee on Friday.
