Wants Prime Minister to step down following Delhi blasts
VISAKHAPATNAM: Deploring the failure of the UPA Government to check terrorism and demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister following the Delhi blasts, the BJP city unit on Sunday organised a protest at the Dwarakanagar junction.
Led by its city president P.V. Narayana Rao and former State president P.V. Chalapathi Rao, the BJP activists formed a human chain blocking traffic. An effigy of the Indian Mujahideen, which claimed responsibility for the Delhi blasts, was burnt.
Mr. Narayana Rao said the citizens of the country were paying the price for the UPA Government repealing POTA, a stringent Act to bring terrorists to book.
Mr. Chalapathi Rao said though blasts had occurred in Hyderabad and Mumbai too, only Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was successful in arresting those responsible for the explosions at Ahmedabad.
The UPA Government’s soft attitude was also evident as it failed to hang Afzal Guru, convicted for attacking Parliament.
BJP State secretary Kolli Ratna Kumari, State executive members J. Pridhviraj, T. Subbarami Reddy and S. Kasi Viswanadha Raju, city general secretary Madeti Kanaka Rao, secretary, M. Ramakrishna Raju and BJYM State general secretary P.V.N. Madhav participated in the protest..
