Visakhapatnam: Inclement weather did not dampen the spirits of the cadets participating at the on-going All India Nau-Sainik Camp-2008 at the erstwhile Naval Maritime Academy. Rear Admiral H.S. Malhi, Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard witnessed the demonstrations of ship-modelling put up by the cadets. The team from AP won the trophy for the Best Directorate in ship-modelling.

Celebrations end

The Hindi fortnight celebrations at Eastern Naval Command (ENC) concluded at the Samudrika auditorium on Friday.

Rear Admiral R.K. Dhowan, Chief of Staff, Headquarters, ENC, was the chief guest. Chairman of AP Hindi Academy Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad participated as special invitee.

Rear Admiral Dhowan released the 14th edition of ‘Poorvi Vani’ the Hindi magazine of ENC.

Book exhibition

Himamsu Book Depot is organising a book exhibitions at TTD Kalyana Mandapam at MVP Colony in the city and Vizianagaram, Rajahmundry, Kakinada and Eluru in association with the TTD from September 10 to 30.

Publications of TTD, Telugu Academy, Telugu University and Ramakrishna Mission among others would be sold at a 10 per cent discount.

Hindi fortnight begins

Hindi Fortnight celebrations commenced at HPCL Visakha Refinery on Friday.

General Manager (operations) M.K. Surana participated as chief guest at the inaugural function.

He formally inaugurated the Hindi fortnight and appealed to all employees to take part in various competitions being organised on the occasion.

Deputy Manager-Hindi T. Mahadev Rao, Deputy General Manager-Materials ASV Ramanan and DGM-Project Finance Ashok G. Belurgikar attended.
